Great question. Full specs will be released in April but I will say that our tests confirm that Hynt uses much less battery than GPS tracking. Why is that? We use the Bluetooth Low Energy radio receiver instead of the GPS receiver which is more of a battery hog. On top of that, we’ve worked carefully to optimize the software to run efficiently in the background on iOS without compromising battery life. The result is that Hynt drains battery life no more than a BLE fitness tracker (usually less).
