1.0 Recap

Yesterday, I looked at the innovative way of thinking about problems and also factors that contribute to innovation. You can check it out here.

2.0 What is UX?

Today, I started the User Experience course because I was eager to connect the dots between Design thinking and User experience. At first, it got a little bit confusing when I tried to differentiate the two but I later got a hang of it.

UX is all about meeting the user’s needs by bringing the user to the center of design thinking when creating a product or service. In a nutshell, it’s more like:

User Experience => Do you enjoy using the product? (Experience)

Design Thinking => How do you feel when using the product? (Empathy)

Another difference I found online is:

Design Thinking=> starting with a problem by doing lots of research about users, the problem itself and finding the best creative or innovative solution to that problem.

User Experience => starting from a solution and making that work according to user’s needs.

Most of the time, UX answer questions about a product or service such as:

  1. How does it feel?
  2. Is the user interface intuitive enough?
  3. How does it look?

4.0 Conclusion

Tomorrow, I’ll be taking a look at why UX design matters.

The best way to learn is by asking questions and letting people know how you understand the topic. Feel free to leave a comment, we will definitely learn from it🙂.
