How it feels after building something first time?

Hello everyone. Myself Sumedh. Its my first story on Medium. So….let’s begin….

One year back,I was a total noob to web development.As a part of Summer Mentorship Programme conducted by my college community I got to learn web development. So I started learning it in summer during my holidays. Those were fun days learning New things daily.

Our mentors provided us with some books on web development.I was just reading the books and was just getting bored by reading the books.It was not that much fun only reading the books and understand everything.So I asked my mentor that I am not finding it interesting,just reading and reading.So he suggested me that “Dont just read,start building something and in no time you will have something of your own running”.

So that was the kickstart I got.I started seeing new stuff on internet and started building new things.I got many obstacles in doing those things,but it is well said that “Good things take time”.It took me a week to build my first webapp.

So,if you would ask me about my feeling that how felt after building my first thing,I cant tell you in words.It was just awesome.By the way,I built a chrome extension which fetches news from the NewYork times.No matter how small thing you built,what matters is that you started somewhere and built something.Later on I built many things,like I made a photography portfolio for friend,Battleship game in JS.I also worked on some repos.

So that was the beginning.Now I am still learning new things in Web Development daily.

So basically I want to tell every noob in development that “Dont just read books and watch tutorials online,rather start building something of your own and in no time you will have something of your own running”.
