That’s why we’ve created the Blinkist Minute app for the Google Assistant on Google Home, eligible Android phones and iPhone. The Minute is a life-changing daily audio brief that showcases insights and tips from the world’s best nonfiction books.

You’ll learn how to boost your productivity, help your business succeed and live to be a hundred. You’ll discover fascinating factoids like how restaurants try to steer you to buy the second most expensive item on the menu and what inspired Leonardo da Vinci to draw the famous sketch of the Vitruvian Man.

One minute a day is all it takes to be a lifelong learner, to boost your knowledge and to gain new perspectives on the world around you.

To get started, say, “Ok Google, talk to Blinkist Minute”.

Why Bring Blinkist to the Google Assistant?

To follow our mission, Blinkist needs to help you fit learning into your life, however you live it. That means being available whether you’re on-the-move — commuting, at the gym, running between meetings — or at home relaxing.

With the rise of virtual assistants, we’re just at the beginning of a future in which everyone will have a smart, connected home. That is a wave of innovation that we want to be part of. No matter where you are, you should be able to learn something interesting and instantly apply it to your daily life.

That’s why we’re excited to launch an Assistant app. We’re committed to constant innovation and to finding new ways to bring lifelong learning to people everywhere.

What We Learned

With the Blinkist Minute app for the Google Assistant, you can take one minute every day to learn something new. We learned plenty of new things too, in the process of creating this app.

For example, we had to make sure that the Blinkist Minute responds to each and every way you might address it. So basically, we needed to make sure that you don’t always have to be careful about enunciating a clear “YES” or “NO” when invoking the app. If you want to hear a Minute, you can respond in whatever way feels natural to you, so feel free to say any variation of yup, sure, OK, of course, affirmative… whatever floats your vernacular boat!

Developing an app for the Google Assistant got us thinking about the subtleties of speech and language and how we could use it better to fit into your life in a natural, intuitive way — just like the Blinkist Minute.

We hope you enjoy it and are eager to get your feedback on what we can change or improve! We always want to hear from you, so just hit us up with any queries or comments. Happy learning!
