We are back with our latest weekly update! We are pleased to announce that our alpha release was a success and we are ready to head into beta testing — thank you to everyone who participated and gave feedback! Starting later today, the site will be temporarily inaccessible as we prepare for beta release, but you will be able to sign up for early beta access on blitzpredict.io so make sure to sign up!

Part of the alpha process was identifying the biggest problems in the ecosystem and deciding on where we can make the greatest impact. After careful consideration, we have decided to focus exclusively on our peer-to-peer betting exchange. There is a tremendous need for a peer-to-peer platform that solves counterparty risk for the offscreen betting market, and we’ve decided to dedicate all of our resources toward solving that challenge. We need to be ruthlessly efficient as we progress and, as such, we will be eliminating expert predictions and the aggregator from the platform.

We are grateful for the support from our expert community and are well aware that there are a ton of problems in the sports betting tout/predictions space that blockchain technology can help solve, but ultimately it is ineffective to support two fairly independent paths for the business at this early stage. We appreciate the love you’ve given us and we hope that you will continue to follow our progress as we get ready for mainnet launch later this year!

The XBP token remains an integral part of our ecosystem and XBP holders will earn discounts on trading fees. We also plan to implement XBP burning mechanisms for market creation and XBP staking mechanisms for tournament entry. The goal of our exchange is to provide a low fee marketplace where winners and automated tools are welcome and counterparty risk is eliminated. We will be releasing an updated whitepaper later this summer and we are on track to launch mainnet (real money betting) in Q4 2019, in conjunction with Augur’s v2 release.

Congratulations to Sports FanAlytics, H-T¤WN HU$TL3R, and Hirenp1 for winning the top three spots on our all-time leaderboard! We appreciate everyone who battled on the leaderboard and hope you will join us once we launch our tournaments feature. Our podcast will still be going strong, with podcasts this week on MLB, soccer, and the exciting NBA offseason. Make sure to check out the BlitzPod on Podbean, Spotify, Google Play, and iTunes.

Thank you so much! Look for the updated landing page tomorrow and sign up for the early access to the beta release. Make sure to join our Discord and follow us on Twitter, Telegram, Facebook, Reddit, and Blockfolio — thanks for the support!
