Roanoke Police: Suspect pointed sunglasses at store clerk during attempted robbery

Star Valley Mini-Mart had an eventful Wednesday evening when a man walked in with the intentions of robbing the store. However, instead of using a firearm to try to coax the cashier, the suspect pointed a pair of sunglasses at the employee and demanded money. The suspect did not recieve any money, but physically assulted the employee and left the scene.

Liberty High Basketball rallies around assistant coach battling cancer

At Liberty High School in Bedford, Virginia, the boys and girls varsity basketball team hosted basketball tournaments on Monday, January 23rd, and Tuesday, January 24th. However, the players are not just playing to win. The boys and girls team is selling shirts at the game to raise awareness for cancer, which their assistant coach, Tony McKinney, is batteling.

Traveling superhero-themed exhibit comes to Lynchburg College

“My Hero! Contemporary Art & Superhero Action” art exhibition just arrived in Lynchburg on Friday, January 20th. The gallery consists of superhero artwork including a 500-pound sculpture of The Dark Night created by Lizabeth Eva Rossof. The art gallery will be traveling around the country for three and-a-half years.
