Dear Miners & Mining Pool operators

First we would like to thank you for the great support you are giving to BLOC by running different community mining pools and to the 138 online miners connected at the time of this post. Miners and Mining Pool operators will always have a special ‘place’ in the BLOC community, you are really important to us.

Since we are in a decentralised system with cryptocurrency BLOC and we do not like to support the actual corrupted system by gouvernments and banks we need to be agree (or not) on different points.

Right now we have two important issue that we need to solve ASAP.

1. We need to spread the hashrate.

DEFINITION of ‘51% Attack’ 51% attack refers to an attack on a blockchain for which such an attack is still hypothetical by a group of miners controlling more than 50% of the network’s mining hashrate, or computing power.

Right now we have a pool that has more than 51% and this is not healthy. Of course we are a new community but not that new anymore (almost 8 months old soon) so we still have to grow from here and we would to do it properly together.

So if you are mining BLOC from this pool please switch your miner NOW to help us spread the network. We have a few different mining pools available from our website.

What actions can we take to make this better:

We are reducing official mining pools fees to 0.1%

We have 3 official mining pools.

BLOC-MINING.EU (FINLAND). If you are in Europe mine here.

BLOC-MINING.ASIA (SINGAPORE). If you are in Asia mine here.

BLOC-MINING.US (SAN FRANSICO). If you are in USA mine here.

This 3 officials pools are running 3 differents webservers JUST FOR THIS. As you can see nobody is even mining in the US or ASIA pool… We are paying 500$ per months for this 3 webserver and you guys are not using it…

Also we have changed the minimum payout to 5 BLOC to avoid sending a tons of 1 BLOC transactions which for now makes no sense and we suggest all the pool owners to do the same so that we can improve our network.

Each pool is different, just try it you can be amazed by the different results you can have while switching to different pools. Just try them all !

Do not mine through an exchange wallet

We see that there is a lot of users mining through an exchange wallets. We do NOT recommend this at all. You should always mine using a wallet that you own private keys. If for any reason the exchange is going down you are going to loose EVERYTHING and there will be NO WAY to recover your money.

So please DOWNLOAD A WALLET and mine through this wallet. Once you have mined your coins simply transfer them to your favorite exchange and do your business.

One more thing, TradeOgre is charging you 1 BLOC for withdrawals so if you are receiving only 1 BLOC to your TradeOgre wallet address you will not be able to get anything from it.

2. TradeOgre wallet optimization

Because of the first issue, the second one was born. TradeOgre is going an amazing job and we are working with them to offer the best wallet optimization feature. Right now there is a withdrawal limit of 200 BLOC on TradeOgre. We need to fix this and this is how we are going to do it:

We need to improve the optimization speed of the wallets by 10. We are working on this right now. Because there is so many small transactions of 1 BLOC coming from the miners to TradeOgre wallet the optimization needs to run through all the single transactions to optimize them and this is taking forever since there is a lot of 1 BLOC transactions.

SOLUTION: Do NOT mine through TradeOgre wallet and switch your miner to a pool that support the new minimum payment of 5 BLOC.

This problem is due that TradeOgre started to optimize the wallet very late, then in the same time miners keep increasing and mining through the TradeOgre wallet that creating a lot of non optimized transactions and this running for days and months now. Only TradeOgre is in this case but we need to takeover the delay and optimize this wallets for good.

We are planning to do this with the new BLOC 3.0 core. Meanwhile we will keep you updated.

What about the rest ?

Beside that we have made a huge progress with the new BLOC 3.0 but it is still not ready. We want to make everything running smooth and it’s taking time. We already have the new miner ready, the new core implementation is done including the exact same test net also the new developer api and website is done, we have the Traakx app in beta release but we are dealing with Apple now for basics rules and all this takes a lot of time.
