This autumn Blockchain Art in Kiev will held the new stage of the international project combining art and technology — II Blockchain Art Hackathon.

The participants of the hackathon will get a difficult task — to present the role of the individual in society at the time when technologies take over the entire routine that the person is performing today. Can technologies solve human problems?

The feature of the event is the format and the platform for ideas pitching. This year Blockchain Art Hackathon strengthens the format of decentralization, moving the location from Kiev to the country art residence, where educational and creative stages will take place: lectures, workshops and master classes. Participants will have the opportunity to present their ideas at the pitchings during Kiev International Economic Forum — the place where business owners and company leaders from all over the world will gather.

The language of the artistic decision in the project will consist of painting, graphics, as well as animation. As a result of the joint work of artists, animators and business representatives, an animated film will be created, which will be presented at the end of Kyiv Economic Forum to its participants.

After the II Blockchain Art Hackathon, the project will traditionally be presented by a series of exhibitions both in Ukraine and abroad, as well as the result of the hackathon — an animated film will take part in international animation festivals.

Within the framework of the project, participants will have a unique opportunity to listen the lectures on Blockchain and other innovative technologies, singularities, futurology, urbanistics, geopolitics and art business. Among the lecturers there are co-founder of projects “Foundation for Future”, “Institute of Humanity” Yurij Chudnovsky, managing partner of Capital Times investment company Eric Naiman, political philosopher, modern ideologies and political cultures researcher Mikhail Minakov, co-founder of Artherium, system of collections management based on blockchain Denis Belkevich and others.

Commissioner of Blockchain Art Hackathon Stanislav Podyachev believes that the project is relevant today primarily to the task set, and the second — to the format.

“We live in the era of creative economy, where technology fundamentally changes the way people live. It is very important to be the first to open the door of a new world. The format of hackathon, otherwise forum, where specialists from different spheres work together to solve one global problem, is used in various industries, not only in IT. The most recent example is VHacks hackathon in Vatican, which was held last spring, firstly in the history of The Holy See. It was dedicated to topics of social inclusion, interreligious dialogue and world migration”.

The founders of Blockchain Art have already shown themselves as a creative team that finds non-standard but successful solutions to the actual problems of a dynamically developing industry of Blockchain and cryptocurrencies. The future II Blockchain Art Hackathon will join the list of large-scale, interesting and compulsory events this fall.
