Shin Kibayashi, iconic Japanese Story Writer, Spinning Blockchain game “Job Tribes” Into Gold
One of the upcoming blockchain games in 2019 that caught my eye is “Job Tribes”. It is currently under development in Japan and a free trial version launch is set for this summer. I have several reasons why I keep my eye on this game recently but one of them is the game story is actually written by Shin Kibayashi, who is one of the most successful story writers in Japan. How successful? He was featured on a TV show the other day in Japan and was essentially saying that every project he touches turns into gold.

His name is Shin Kibayashi, known as the most charismatic manga novelist in Japan. If you are familiar with Japanese manga, you may know or heard his name already. He has worked on over twenty popular manga series (I introduced some of his iconic works in my previous post, “The story and key players behind an upcoming blockchain game Job Tribes”).
On the TV show, he was introduced as a mysterious man at first because he uses a different pen name on every work. He does this so that he can avoid readers having preconceptions towards his work.
His body of work has sold more than 300 million copies globally. Let’s say each comic is $5, OMG!! that’s literally $1.5B sales… His work is not only on manga, but he also worked on a popular TV drama series called “HERO”, which recorded a high audience rating.

He works together with his own sister Yuko, who is a nonfiction novelist. They are also well known wine enthusiasts who were voted one of Decanter magazine’s 50 most influential people in the wine industry in 2009. They have been featured in interviews with the New York Times, CNN, and Wine Aficionado regarding global wine trends. Their manga series about wine called “Drops of God” brought them an award from French Culture Minister for their contribution in 2011.
TV crews visited his house and studio in Tokyo, Japan. It’s like a luxurious nice restaurant. He even has an isolated smoking room in his own house!!! Seriously, I am just speechless…
