What are facts? What is history? How should history be recorded?

This is an article about history, facts, and The Block History.

What are Facts?

If you believe in many of the mainstream views currently existing, then some of the following knowledge may surprise you.

Well-renowned Cleopatra is not in fact Egyptian, but Greek;

Although the United States celebrates the discovery of the New World by Columbus every year, in fact, Columbus was not the first explorer to reach the Americas (his predecessors arrived 500 years earlier);

Napoleon Bonaparte, according to the standards of his day, is not as short as previously thought. He stood at 5’2” tall in pre-French Revolutionary measurements. But by modern measurement standards, Napoleon stands about 5’6” tall, which is taller than the average French male at the time.

Our ordinary cognition is gradually being overthrown, and the established history of the past will also be revised with the emergence of new research materials.

So the question remains: Can we trust history?

It is difficult to find provable historical facts in historical sources, apart from books. Historical materials disappear due to improper preservation, modifications to historical records by rulers according to their own preferences, and the murder of historians unwilling to submit to such delegations.

Even now, it is almost impossible for us to truly record something in the annals of history. After all, the recorders have always had inherent supervisory biases and have always modified pertaining facts.

What actually happened with the assassination of the 35th US President John F. Kennedy? What did Julian Assange, the founder of Wikipedia, discover before being arrested by the FBI?

The truth about Pearl Harbor, the secrets lying dormant in Area 51, and the life experience of Satoshi Nakamoto….

There are so many things happening in this world, and these facts will be covered up and misunderstood for various reasons.

Facts have now become rare commodities.

The Block History Allows History to be Truthfully Recorded

“History must be recorded truthfully.” This is the vision of The Block History.

If we say that the emergence of blockchain technology has given the world a platform that expresses truth and cannot be tampered with, then the emergence of NFTs makes everyone’s record more unique.

The emergence of The Block History provides a reliable platform for the processing of “factually true history”.

We’ve found that through the emergence of blockchain technology and NFTs, we can find a direct derivation channel between history and facts so that everyone can become a recorder of history, from which everyone can also receive incentives.

On The Block History, anyone can record what happened on the chain and mint a historical event NFT. And within 10–30 minutes of the creation of the historical event NFT, the first 100 users can track the historical event and cast it into a copy of the NFT.

Due to the characteristics of the blockchain, the historical records on The Block History can prevent the records from being tampered with, and will not be interfered by or hidden by any forcers or individuals.

But this is far from sufficient.

At a time when false information floods our records, the truest facts must be the most valuable, and the act of faithfully recording facts is worth encouraging.

As long as minted History NFTs can be traded freely, each History NFT can show its true value according to market behavior.

There is nothing more exciting than witnessing history. Mint history will be even more invigorating.

From abstract patterns carved on the walls of ancient caves to vivid pictures of the moment, the historical medium is changing from an abstract hot medium that requires the active association of the audience to a more concrete, cold medium.

However, in our view, the hot and cold of unnecessary mediums and the long trail of history are inseparable from the active participation of all people, and at the same time, more forms of expression are needed.

In the future, The Block History will be based on History NFTs and expand the medium of history on the blockchain to various methods such as articles, photos, and videos, so as to increase the amount of information that a minted NFT can contain.

In addition, we will also create a richer history GameFi and history art appreciation elements, and eventually present them in the Metaverse.

Just like many DeFi platforms use oracles to act as a link between the digital world and the real world, realizing the reality of “feeding prices” on the chain.

What History does is to become a predictor of the historical Metaverse and the real world. Every historical event in the Metaverse will have a real-world “feeding price”. Let history no longer be confined to boring words, but let it finally move towards reality, becoming a truer part of our lives.
