BlockNotary Team Develops Best Truffle-based Ethereum App

Over the course of Consensus 2016 Hackathon in New York, BlockNotary team has won ConsenSys’s prize for the best solution created in Truffle environment for Ethereum developers. Igor Barinov, BlockNotary founder, has created a smart contract for Proof of Phone procedure, which enables linking a phone number to an Ethereum wallet.

In the Beginning

BlockNotary team has always tried to find practical applications for distributed technologies in order to solve existing problems. It’s evident in our work on BlockNotary Dashboard. That’s why, in Ethereum case, we also decided to use the platform’s capability to solve casual problems that inflict enormous annual losses on businesses.

We took our inspiration from Proof of Physical Address. Similarly to that, we decided to develop an Ethereum-based micro oracle to link user wallet to phone number.

General Principles

In order to undergo Proof of Phone procedure, user has to input his or her phone number and receive a confirmation text message.

Afterwards, they have to input their wallet address in Ethereum network, and then the linking procedure is complete.
