Blogging Pro Tip: Your blog community can help fuel true content and social media automation.
As a blogger, it’s fair to assume that your most important task is writing quality content for the enjoyment of your audience. When writing quality posts we generally follow a set of fairly straightforward guidelines — you know, the usual stuff; organizing, researching, writing, proofreading and editing.
These days however, what separates the winners from the rest of the now very large pack, is getting all the other little things right. Menial tasks that don’t necessarily involve writing and all the creativity associated with it, but still compound your chances for success. I’m talking about the countless often tedious miscellaneous tasks that come with the blogging territory (I call it “grunt work”!).
So instead of focusing the bulk of our time on writing, we’re instead jumping through endless hoops just to stay relevant while we maintain a small glimmer of hope of one day making it big. The struggle is real folks — and I have first hand experience of how brutally challenging it can be. Fortunately a new era of automation, complimented with the power of your community can drastically change all of that.
Automated bots don’t eat, don’t sleep, don’t complain, don’t burn out, and definitely don’t have a family to take care of. They are ready to serve 24/7 when called upon. And with all the modern web tools available for use nowadays, automation is a lot more accessible than you may realize.
Automate your social media channels with content from your community
I’m willing to bet that you already know how important it is to be active and engaged in social media accounts on platforms where potential audience hangs out.
These include Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, Stumbleupon, and Myspace. Ok, maybe not Myspace. But it’s all much easier said than done. It’s time consuming to routinely have to engage with and share content, and if you don’t, people will have no reason to continue following you. Content from your community, if utilized properly, will seriously beef up your social media game and will continue to do so in a fully automated manner.
How it works is simple: All the content submitted to your community, whether by you, or by your members, is eligible to be included. The “quality threshold” of votes required to be included is set by you, meaning if you set it to +5, a post will need to reach that vote score before it qualifies.

Blogger burn-out is real, don’t fall victim to it
Let’s face it, “blogger burn-out” is real and affects most bloggers in one way or another. Obviously successful blogs don’t become successful overnight. It’s a long-term grind that sets an extremely high bar to get over, and that’s how it’s supposed to be, or else everyone would be doing it! Cliche, I know.
Take a quick look at your social media channels and ask yourself, “Am I doing enough to promote myself?”.
To help you answer that question, my team and I have recently done extensive research by talking to hundreds of bloggers and social media influencers. We ultimately reached the conclusion that making 10–15 social posts per day is ideal and the most effective. This helps target different people at different times and maximizes your chances to get re-tweets, likes, and thumb ups; which can spread the content outside of your own circles.
