At RAW’s Great Balls of Fire, Some Wrestlers Should Definitely Win Over the Other
RAW’s exclusive Great Balls of Fire PPV is just hours away. And according to RAW General Manager Kurt Angle, this card is the best he has seen RAW produce in a while. This is a very bold statement especially since the buildup, not including Samoa Joe versus Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman and Roman Reigns, has been less than stellar for many of its matches. The Women’s Championship bout really didn’t have much substance and Finn Balor is missing. However, this PPV card does have the potential for the Dallas crowd regardless.
Being an avid fan of WWE for many years I’ve been frustrated with the product many of times. Most often than not, matches are swayed unfavorably or performers are not “put over”. This affects what happens in future planning causing some athletes to be “buried”. There are a few wrestlers on the card that I feel need to win over their opponent for credibility and future booking.
Seth Rollins vs. Bray Wyatt
Seth Rollins is one the key components in WWE’s long future. As the newly appointed cover athlete for the WWE 2K18 video game, Seth Rollins is going into Great Balls of Fire with much momentum. However, Bray Wyatt arrived on RAW with me purpose, nearly pitting the roster hostage. His ability on the mic relays this, and his amazing promo skills, is some of the best WWE has in this PG Era. “The New Face of Fear” is a title that suits Bray Wyatt perfectly, but has diminishing value due to his WrestleMania record and lack of notable victories.
If Bray wants to continue dominance and terror on RAW, then he must carry that story into WWE’s premier PPV, SummerSlam.
Who should win: Bray Wyatt.
Alexa Bliss vs. Sasha Banks (Raw Women’s Championship)
The Women’s Division on Monday Night RAW is really in a difficult spot right now. Nia Jax is the most obvious force in the division, but portraying her as weak yet strong and friendly yet aggressive does not do the division any favors. Her gauntlet match on RAW weeks ago proves she is the number one contender no matter who the RAW Women’s Champion is. Whoever wins with Banks and Bliss is going to face the challenge of Nia Jax sooner of later. My guess is that Alexa Bliss is the obvious favorite to remain victorious just for the mere reason of leashing the monster in Nia until the time is appropriate.
Who should win: Alexa Bliss.
Enzo Amore vs. Big Cass
Big Cass’ heel turn was a little too obvious but most needed for the seven footer. Enzo Amore and Big Cass were not going anywhere as a tag team, and their partnership was only really seen as a prop for the fans’ amusement. Simply put, Big Cass must not fall to Enzo Amore, who is half his size. If booking wants to push Big Cass into main event stardom, then the choice of victor is not difficult here.
Who should win: Big Cass.
Braun Strowman vs. Roman Reigns (Ambulance match)
Besides the main event, Roman Reigns facing Braun Strowman is the most important match on the card. Both stars are receiving major pushes in the company. Whoever wins this bout, I believe, will definitely be the next number one contender. And with rumors that either will face Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam, this match has major repercussions for future creative planning.
Roman Reigns has defeated Braun in the past which many, and I, felt was extremely unnecessary at the time. Why give Braun Strowman the persona “The Monster Among Men” when nearly every decision goes against him? Roman Reigns will always be the guy to be next in line, similar to John Cena, but Braun Strowman does not have that same safeguard. I am hoping this will go in favor of the one that will benefit most from it.
Who should win: Braun Strowman.
Brock Lesnar vs. Samoa Joe (Universal Championship)
Two of the greatest behemoths in sports entertainment history square off in what should be a hard-hitting and evenly-style match. The most anticipated match for the WWE Universal Championship since its inception clearly. Samoa Joe is dominance no matter where he show up and Brock Lesnar is exactly identical. It is no wonder why this match was planned from the beginning.
Whoever does come up on top will be a decisive champion for Monday Night RAW; however, Brock Lesnar losing so fast after winning it at WrestleMania is probably not the what most are planning to see. Samoa Joe should win, but will he. That is a 99.9% no.
Who should win: Samoa Joe.
The rest of the bouts should be quite entertaining, but these particular matches are what I feel needs a certain victor. Comment who you think should win below.
