Why do I write? I write because it is therapeutic, a form of release. When I write, I feel like I am having a conversation with myself, which is one of the most important conversations I will ever have. Through writing, I hear my own voice. I can pour my heart out and discover something new about myself and the world around me. As a child who grew up in a violent home, I had very little to nothing of a support system. That was when I discovered the beauty of writing. If I was angry or sad, I would write and hey, nobody judged me! It was just between my notebook and I. Writing was my friend, still is. Though I have surpassed the darkness of my childhood, I never grew tired of writing. I may have a very different purpose now compared to when I was a child, but writing remained a beautiful thing and I am grateful.

Why on Medium? I really don’t know, besides, I am not a writer by profession. I only found medium perhaps just a week ago and I can say that this has been the best writing app I found so far. I can only be glad that I found a platform that allows me to put my thoughts out there, so thank you, Medium!

What am I looking for? Nothing in particular, really, but connection with fellow human beings is a wonderful gift! Writing is a bridge as well as a gateway to unlocking many mysteries hidden around us.

Thank you for your post and for allowing us to share our thoughts. Great questions that sparked ideas and created a time of reflection. Peace!
