Organization not Creation.
When we observe life and the universe we try to obtain an explanation respecting our inbuilt notion of logic .This basic logic underlies our use of language as well as cognitive activities related to observing, thinking and reasoning. It is a human characteristic to (try to) think logically ,so it belongs to the species, but is it genetically determined ? Scientific tests did confirm that babies of only a few months old had some understanding of primitive mathematics ,say geometry .That is necessary for giving meaning to the patches of colors they see moving around them or to locate the direction of some sounds that catch their attention . The notion of direction may be formed while hearing the heartbeat of the mother while still in the womb ,it may be important in finding the source of food after being born. Very young babies will quickly turn their head in the directionof some sounds ,so they must have some idea about cause and consequence at the most basic level ,hence there must be some primitive idea about their biological time probably prompted by the biological processes in their body.Similar phenomena may be observed in animals so perhaps we may assume that some level of primitive logic is available in many if not all living things ,but that level may vary from zero to something more elaborate. We do know that in people that survival-logic becomes an abstract tool rather fast ,it reaches a level allowing meaningful communication in two years or so .
So logic on the abstract level may safely be assumed to be genetically present in the human species. It is the basis of our communication by language and of our interpretation of observations of reality. That we actually rediscover logic in the observations of the universe can have two explanations . First we observe cause and consequence not as an actual property of reality but as a property of our observation system . Secondly we discover an inherent logical structure in the universe compatible with the logic we use in our thinking . The first explanation is certainly true if time is created by our observations and not by the changes observed in the universe ,that possibility cannot be excluded scientifically . Suppose time is only a property induced from our observation system, how can we then interprete reality that way? Well we can think of the universe as a system of states of the universe indexed by a totally ordered set T, every change in the universe is given by a change of state from a “moment” t in T to a moment t’ in T with t’ bigger than t in the order of T . The change in the physical universe is then happening in the interval (t,t’) ,when we observe that change we experience that interval (t,t’) as a time period passing, however observing the change is itself another change in the universe corresponding to an interval (o,o’) in T with o’ larger than o and o larger than t’, ie the observation of a change is in a time period later than the actual change and hence belongs to a later state of the universe . Note that this point of view makes all applications of probability theory wrong ,making that only rough approximations up to adding certain assumptions like some continuity hypothesis for changes in the universe and so on. I will not go into detail about this here. At every t in T the state of the universe or reality has a non-commutative geometry with commutative shadow the observable space-time. Now the causality relations in the observed reality is obtained from some deformed relation (you can find detail in my blog on learning processes ) I called organic causality which is a not necessarily transitive relation (hence a implies b and b implies c does not yield a implies c ,affecting the logic used in explaining real phenomena tremendously!). Up to taking care of some effects of the deformation on the causality relation we may however describe events in reality by the same logic used for our observed reality . Of course this is really a mistake but not dramatic since the observations will never contradict the new theory applied to reality since the organic causality induces causality on the observed reality! hence in the first case and in the second case we do discover some logical structure in the observed universe that may result from the pseudo-logical theory of reality and organic causality in the first case or by observing some real logical structure in the second case.
Conclusion . We miraculously observe the same type of organization in reality(logic) as the one used in our cognitive structure !
In Physics one talks about the laws of nature ,in biology about the structure of life, …and both have significant problems explaining the origin.
The so-called laws of nature are only mathematical equations, for the model accepted in the description of the universe. Each further step in research seems to weaken the pre-supposed structure of the universe, finding logic in more chaotic systems ? For the structure of life one hits the anomaly of obtaining eukaryotic cells (and later multi-cellular beings) from cells without nucleus. Thus the problem of “creation” prompts itself ,is there a creator for the universe ,evolution, intelligence,…? But that in my opinion is a wrong quetion ,the collector making a stamp collection does not create stamps,he organizes them and in doing so creates the (structure of the)collection. So is there some “organizer” . If so then it has to be outside the universe ,it is not thinkable something organizing everything including itself (but who knows?). So a BEING outside time (and space) that does therefore not exist ,because the definition of existing is in a place and time ,but it IS. It is completely transcendental to us and it has no human properties or activities,it does not think, plan,…,nothing we know! If it has contact with us then that is only possible in the abstract world we created ,that is our thinking, the world of meanings and concepts and…logic ! The fact that our abstract world is organized and also not contained in the real space-time makes it the plausible “organ” for contact outside time and again the logic is the organ of communication perhaps .If there is an organizing BEING then we are doing part of its organizing in our abstract world by applying this to reality (we build and destroy!),so there is a symbiotic cooperation going on between people and the organizing BEING.
Conclusion :Organizing, not creating!
