I agree in sum and substance with 98% of this. Of course, I want to focus on the 2% I disagree with.

  1. “…the lie that ‘both parties are the same.’” You seem to maintain the usual distinction without a difference. The fact is, money has accrued to the top from the same theological adherence to trickle down economics. (Oh, you’re a Democrat? A rising tide lifts all boats, then.) Two of the most viciously destructive — to the 99% — presidents have been Clinton (welfare as we know it, CDOs, Glass Steagall, school-to-prison) and Obama (Wall Street bailouts but for Main Street? Nothing.) So both parties are the same. Like twins, only dressed in different garb.
  2. “what kind of person does this?” The same kind of person who works for a party only too happy to take for party use the money this “kind of person” raises from moochers and those on Social Security. To your point, yes, like any other elite, politician, or evangelist. Of both parties, because they are indeed the same. Two wings of the same airplane.
