Valley Hindu Temple

Valley Hindu Temple is a holy place of worship for the community. It houses the largest shiva lingam in North America and is an impressive feat of architectural prowess.

The Valley Hindu Temple is located in the suburb of Reseda, California. It is the brainchild of Bal K. Sarat, a retired engineer who started the temple in 1996.

A few years ago the community decided to remodel the old adobe temple to modern day requirements.

This included a major upgrade to the bathrooms and a new kitchen. It also included the newest feature, the state-of-the-art LED lighting system.

The new and improved facility is a sight to behold, especially when surrounded by the beauty of the surrounding mountains.

Another nice touch is the use of solar energy to power some of the temple facilities, saving on utility bills for all.

The best part is that the community has embraced the change and is proud to call it home.

There are many things to do in this area of California including a trip to the Los Encinos State Historic Park, or if you’re feeling adventurous, a tour of Sherman Oaks Castle Park.

To get from Woodland Hills to Malibu Hindu Temple you can hop on board the line 161 bus to Agoura / Malibu Hills then take a taxi to the temple of your choice. Alternatively you can hire a motorhome or a minivan from the airport and drive to the temple on your own.
