What is Proof of Sesh?
We have all heard of Proof of Sesh, the consensus mechanism that powers onboarding new validators to the Blunt network on BluntDAO, but there has been confusion on what this means. Right now we refer to each unique onboarding process as Proof of Sesh v?, currently the Solana OG 420 Validators are disseminated on Proof of Sesh v1, the NEAR OG 420 Validators are disseminated on Proof of Sesh v2, and the solution we are proposing to programmatically scale this process is being referred to a v3. We have mentioned doing Proof of Sesh for 420 Validators across other chains like Algorand, however we are referring to an onboarding process on a new chain v1.1, v2.1, v3.1 depending on its resemblance to past onboarding processes.
The Evolution of Proof of Sesh
Proof of Sesh v1
Proof of Sesh v1 was a simple candy machine mint on the Solana network, where the BluntDAO founders minted the 420 OG validators to themselves. This required us to manually on discord send out NFTs and write validated. This process looks like.
- Roll up a Blunt & Proof of Sesh w/ Prospected Validator
- Have them download Solana wallet (phantom/slope) and securely
- Go to BluntDAO.com join discord -> verify -> go to #support channel
- Paste solana Address with who validated you
- A Blunt validator manually copies address and sends 1 OG validator blunt in their wallet
- Validator responds with validated
- Now this validator can send people to discord support channel to paste address (they can also vote in Solana DAO)
Proof of Sesh v2
Proof of Sesh v2 is on the NEAR protocol powered by Satori Creator Studio and custom campaign links for early validators to track how many people they have been onboarded.
- Roll up a Blunt & Proof of Sesh w/ Prospected Validator
- Have them Scan General QR Code (or your code if you have one)
- They either create .near wallet (pre funded by campaign) and claim, or directly claim NFT
- Send them general QR code, brief on rules, now they cna onboard to 420 OG validator on NEAR
Proof of Sesh v3 (Coming Soon)
- Roll A Blunt
- Go to bluntdao.com/validate for those looking to join the BluntDAO
- Connect / Create Wallet -> Enable Camera + Geo
- Take Picture of Blunt -> App Detects Blunts -> Generates QR
- Validator Scans QR -> Connects Wallet -> App Checks for Blunt NFT
- Validator Signs off On Proof of Sesh
- Mints Non-Transferable (Soul Bound NFT to Validate (turning them to a Validators) with their Validator’s Address in Metadata
- Validator routed to Dashboard. Validate touted to post mint page (My NFT | User Dashboard | Feedback Survey)
Dashboard is token gated for advanced analytics and will serve as te portal for gamifying the onboarding process.
