Making the Time for 3 Miles

Super important: make the time for what you want to do. This is a big lesson I have learned through running. It’s great if you have lofty goals but if you don’t give yourself the time to get it done, how can you be successful?

I wake up early to run through the week because driving in Philadelphia is a nightmare and after a long day I don’t want to come home and run 3–4–5–8 miles, and so I wake up early because that’s when I make the time.

This usually means more unusual behavior compared to Instagram users my age. No happy hours after work, no crazy trips to foreign lands, just the complete unattractive nature of rolling out of bed, throwing on shoes, and running for a few miles while others are sleeping.

It’s different I suppose, but it works for me, and it’s what will get me to my goals. Everyone is different, do what works for you.

Keep running —
