Uninstall previous version Setup C#
Sometimes windows or visual studio (i dont know who) makes some funny stuff. In a machine i try to install a new version of windows service but a evil message appear “Uninstall previous version” sadly in program and features there’s not the name of the program and i don’t have the older setup file.
What we do… what i do… just messing around with the registry (REGEDIT)
Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT — INSTALLER — Products
Search for the name of the installed program .. or service and delete it!
Usually you see the information in ProductName and some URL (sorry the address in your computer) and you will be sure in delete the folder with the rare name like 000051096100A0C00000000000F01FE (example) ¬¬’
With that you can install the new version succesfull. Flawless Victory!
In older visual studios theres a option to RemovePreviousVersions=True but in VS 2013 I cant find that.
Have a nice day from the inner world of matrix!
