Bungy Bridge

The wind was cold against my face coming up the river. I was about 13 stories above that river. Between 2 huge rocky mountains. But I wasn’t in the rocky mountains. I was about 3000 miles away. Across the pacific ocean from california. I was in New zealand, we were on the south island in the country to do one thing. This thing would consist of me falling 13 stories (130 ft) and bounce to a stop before hitting the water and rocks below me. I was going to be bungy jumping off a bridge. I was on a 2 ft wide platform coming out the middle of the bridge. Over ice cold water and rocks. I could smell the extremely fresh air, and hear my family cheering me on from the side of the river. The bungy cord and harness were only around my ankles with a towel ,some velcro straps, and carabiners. At the time I was extremely afraid of heights. As I got to the edge of the platform with my toes hanging off the edge of the platform. I looked down the what looked like a mile high but only 13 stories below river. And knew at that second that I had to jump cause if I didn’t then I wouldn’t. So I jumped that exact moment. I felt myself freely falling through air and could only see a blur for what felt like minutes but was only seconds. Then bounced up and down for a few minutes which was like an upside down trampoline. After that day I completely lost all my fear for heights.
