One thing that stands out to me in the ‘opposite’ nature of frustration and delight is that repeated exposure to frustration builds greater frustration while repeated exposure to delight reduces delight. I would imagine the first use of the popsicle hotline is quite delightful. The 2nd time is pretty cool, but soon has diminishing returns. After that, it’s likely an ignored feature.
I guess a question I have is: Can you continually ‘exceed expectation’ to create delight or does it become expected after repeated use and no longer delightful?
