Atong is the first female Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Triple A Group (Triple A Services & Petroleum and Triple A Security Services Ltd); a private oil and gas company based in South Sudan specializing in petroleum products, gas, lubricants, oilfield services (both upstream and downstream) and logistics.
Atong Amos is using this platform to attract the world to South Sudan, the land of joy and tourism, with the mission of providing climate-conscious superlative drilling logistical solutions, efficient, reliable, and integrated drilling Services, and unrivaled top-quality drilling and industrial supplies.
The Logistics Products
Triple-A Petroleum Ltd recently launched a range of premium and high-performance lubricants and petroleum products in South Africa.
The products include engine oil, brake fluids, automatic transmission fluids and coolants among others.
The announcement was made during the African Energy Week Conference that took place from 16th — 20th October 2023 in Cape Town, South Africa.
Speaking during the launch, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Triple-A Services and Petroleum Ltd, Ms Atong Amos Agook said,
“I am excited to announce the launch of our new range of lubricants and petroleum products geared towards delivering high performance and excellence of your motor vehicles engines and other types of machinery”.
The launch of Triple-A Petroleum products was attended by officials from South Africa’s Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Petroleum and Nile Petroleum Corporation (NilePet) of South Sudan and representatives of the African Energy Chamber (AEC).
They remain specializing in diesel, petrol, kerosene, Jet fuel and aviation gasoline, lubricants and oil, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), ethanol and other chemicals.
A female front-led team, Triple A is championing passion for changing business models, investments, and operations amidst global disruptions in the Energy sector.
EMPOWERMENT OF WOMEN IN OIL AND GAS AND HEALTH
At a critical juncture in the climate change history, Atong Amos believes women have a unique opportunity and internal momentum to embark on an inclusive energy transition for a sustainable future.
She has employed more than 100 people with about 60 percent of her workforce being women.
She has launched a health safety awareness campaign aimed at reducing the effects of oil and gas emissions on women’s health.
She has consistently positioned herself as a role model for breaking gender stereotypes and has made strong statements challenging the makeup of traditionally “male” roles in engineering and physics.
In most African societies, girls leave school when they have already decided against pursuing a career in engineering. It makes sense for Atong and her team to reach out to school-aged students to inspire them to pursue this career.
She urges governments, non-governmental organizations, investors, and retail consumers to join her in implementing this vision for a faster transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy o save our continent and the world at large.
For example, Atong Amos was a keynote speaker at the South Sudan Oil & Power Conference (SSOP) 2022, alongside other invited industry experts.
She spoke about how traditional oil and gas operations can pivot to next-generation energy solutions, driving change through difficult asset portfolio decisions, and emphasizing the importance of transparent and action-oriented leadership.
Greater gender equality and women’s skill development, according to Atong Amos Juac, are in line with the growth and development of Africa’s oil and gas industry, the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, and South Sudan’s National Action Plan.
In 2023, she attended the women delegation from the Female Founders initiative Africa and the Middle East where a convention for all the women CEO and the aspiring business women was held.

Agook’s statements were echoed by other prominent speakers, including Dr. Labanya Margaret Mathya, who serves as the DG Administration and Finance at South Sudan’s Ministry of Petroleum. Dr. Mathya emphasized that the key to addressing the issue lies in providing women with opportunities and the space to participate.
South Sudan’s Ministry of Petroleum offers internship and training programs for women. Dr. Mathya emphasized that these programs bring new entrants into the sector, fostering diversity, creating fresh economic opportunities, and driving innovation. She highlighted the importance of considering women as pivotal contributors to the economy, emphasizing their future role in the sector.
The national oil company (NOC) in the country also offers similar programs, with a specific focus on enhancing the involvement of women in leadership roles. Amb. Martha Nyamal, Deputy CEO/MD at Nilepet, expressed the NOC’s commitment to ensuring women’s participation in all aspects of Nilepet and involving them in decision-making processes. She stressed the importance of building women’s confidence, viewing them as the backbone of the nation, and recognizing that providing women with training and opportunities is vital for the company’s growth.
In addition to representatives from South Sudan’s Ministry of Petroleum and the NOC, the discussion sponsored by Triple A Petroleum featured Ntokozo Ngcwabe, DDG: Mining, Minerals, and Energy from the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy in South Africa. She highlighted that for Africa’s energy and mining sectors to thrive, both of which are critical for the continent’s economic development, there must be increased participation by women. Ngcwabe emphasized the need for conscious decisions to promote women’s development in the industry, drawing parallels with the South African mining industry’s efforts to address gender diversity. She encouraged women to proactively position and market themselves, emphasizing that taking initiative is essential to securing a place in these industries.
