Curation is king.

Gone are the days of endless scrolling. Endless searching.

It’s time to take control of our time. Of our lives.

We are now in a time of information overload. Search after search. Article after article. Website after website. Keyword after keyboard. It never ends.

Stealing from your precious time.

Time that can be used for something so much more valuable. Living.

The creation of search was revolutionary. It opened doors to a new world. It has sparked innovation at every single place you turn. It’s allowed for our curiosity to light a rocket ship and set flight for the sky.

“For once you have tasted flight you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skywards, for there you have been and there you will long to return.”
— Leonardo da Vinci

The problem is we just can’t get enough.

We waste our days.

Refreshing. Over and over again.

Scrolling until we get this false sensation of contentedness or until we get bored. It’s killing us. It’s sucking our lives into our screens.

A technology that can create worlds and create bridges into tomorrow, is turning into an anchor that keeps us stuck in the past.

It’s time to end that. It’s time to create a new way forward.

A new way to use the technology that search has created.

It’s time for curation.

Where we only see what we need to see. What is curated for us. Where we don’t have to search for what we need. It’s already there for us. And the most important part, there is an ending. A stopping place. So, we know that we don’t have to spend endless time scrolling or looking. We know when it is time to move on and get back to living.

We see this trend already beginning.

With Medium’s new homepage. With Twitter moments.

Search is dead. Curation is the new king.

And it will lead to a better world and a better humane way of tech.

One that enhances all of our lives. One that allows us to take control of our lives again.
