Goals for 2016.
2015 is coming to an end. You can see my reflection of 2015 here.
Tomorrow 2016 will hit us whether we like it or not. In reality, it is no different than today. Regardless, I still think it is good to set up and write down goals for the upcoming year.
I recently read a post here on Medium, How To Consciously Evolve in 2016 (& the rest of your life) by Benjamin Hardy, that led me to thinking and reflecting.
My goals for 2016 need to be big. They need to force me to act. They need to force me to think unconventionally in order to reach them.
I will be graduating college in May. I will be saying goodbye to one of the places I have known as “home” for the past four years. I will be setting off down a new road on my journey through life. I have no idea what that raod will look like as of right now, and that excites me even more.
2016 is a mystery box waiting to be opened.
2016 is a story waiting to be written.
2016 is going to be an exciting year.
Here are my goals for 2016:
Travel to 10 new cities. 3 of them, being international.
I didn’t get enough exploring done in 2015. Exploring is how I discover. It is how I learn. It is how I uncover stories, create stories, form relationships, and learn about the world. Exploring is how I live
In 2016, my goal is to travel to 10 new cities. 3 of these cities must be international.
Startup, validate, finance, and launch a company.
I have been working on an idea for a startup the past few weeks with a friend and fellow entrepreneurship student at Miami University. The idea was born at Miami University StartUp Weekend 2014, but the pieces fell apart shortly after that weekend. We have picked up the pieces and are starting anew. I’ll write in more detail about it in the future.
In 2016, my goal is to officially start our company, validate our idea, finance, and launch the idea.
Continue creating every single day.
This past month I started a journey to create something new every single day. I not only want to continue this journey into 2016, but I want to take it to the next level. I want to continue learning and expanding my skillset. By doing this, I want to explore many different paths. In 2016, I will branch off of just creating blog posts. I want to explore creating videos, graphic design, photography, website design, etc. Who knows what all I will explore. I just want to explore. I want to create.
In 2016, my goal is to continue creating every single day and to explore while doing so.
Create a Healthy, Creative System of Living
My final goal is to create a system within my life to live healthy and creatively.
The system will rely on these three goals:
- Carry my Field Notes Memo Book everywhere with me. I will start keeping track of what I need to do each day. I will write my goals down. By creating some structure, I will allow myself to be held accountable.
- Start exercising daily.
- Start eating healthier.
I want to be able to be creative at a moments notice. In order to do this, I will need to continue working on building some structure into my life, I will need to continue exercising, and I will need to try to eat healthier.
In 2016, my goal is to create a healthy, creative system of living.
These are my goals for 2016.
They are a beginning.
They are the start of another road in my journey.
They will almost certainly change at some point in 2016 as I discover new roads that lie ahead.
