You have a point but I’d doubt it is a serious marxist plot.

Simply the type of person who is likes the concept of market forces usually chooses to work in competitive businesses leaving the PC brigade in the media by default. Then there are issues with market forces leading to monopolies or collusion on occasion and an investigation is bound to be critical but that does not mean the journalist is left or right wing. When there is a political issue it is not uncommon for the right wing response to be ‘lets do nothing and wait and see’ while the left wing response will involve complicated interventions — clearly the latter requires far more time to explain and that can lead to assumptions of bias.

Finally there are issues where one side as the facts on their side; for example creationists simply do not deserve equal time to evolutionists. However creationists do exist and not stupid and deserve to have their voice heard.

Compare that to NZ where despite clear academic proof (Auckland Uni) that we have widespread exploitation of workers related to our high level of immigration to the point that it registers on the modern slavery index it is almost impossible to get it mentioned in our newspapers or on TV because it might be interpreted as racist. Was it similar in USA newspapers of the 1840’s — no mention of slavery?
