Indian Vegetarian Irony

Vatica Indian Vegetarian Restaurant makes its cuisine preference clear from its very name to the plentiful signs adorning the entryway reminding patrons that it is a vegetarian only establishment.

When Linda and I walked in, there was no one in sight. We walked down the hall, peered into the kitchen, and called out for assistance. Suddenly, the beaming owner popped up from behind the counter where he was apparently lurking. He blurted out boisterously, “Welcome, my friends! What can I get you? How about a nice, juicy steak?!” Ahhh, gentle South Asian irony is music to my ears any time!
