3 Steps To Take Your Faith From Flickering to Full Flame

Maximize the gift of faith that God has given.

Most of us, at one point or another, have battled with the level of our faith. The problem is that comparison can creep in and we end up downplaying our own faith.

So what are we supposed to do? I’ve been stuck here before myself. This search can be an endless loop of up and downs. This journey can be disheartening. Don’t get discouraged. I believe that this adventure we call Christianity is full of the process of learning.

So, how do you get a more “full-flamed” faith?

1. Ask for more faith

This sounds silly as a primary step, but the disciples did. If you’re hungry it’s ok to ask for some more food. So, it’s ok to ask for more faith if you don’t have enough; and we never have to worry about there not being enough!

5 The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” 6 And the Lord said, “If you had faith like a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.
Luke 17:5 ESV

2. Dig into the bible

Obviously, the Bible is full of faith building passages and verses. It’s not enough just to read it, we must act on it.

17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
Romans 10:17 ESV

3. Realize faith is a grace gift

God has already given your faith to you, though you can ask for more. It’s gift. It’s free. It’s not your fault. The faith you have is a sign of grace from God.

12 I thank our Lord Jesus the Anointed who empowers me, because He saw me as faithful and appointed me to this ministry. 13 Despite the fact that at one time I was slandering the things of God, persecuting and attacking His people, He was still merciful to me because I acted in ignorance apart from faith. 14 But He poured His grace over me, and I was flooded in an abundance of the grace and faith and love that can only be found in Jesus the Anointed.
1 Timothy 1:12–14 Voice

To amp up your faith you need to believe that it’s possible for you to have more faith. Faith as a gift from God is an ever-growing and ever-renewing gift. He’s a good Father.

Prayer

Father, thank you for the faith that you have given me. I believe that I have all the faith I need. But, I ask for more faith to accomplish the work you have for me. Give me the desire to dig into your word and mine out the reaches of truth. Help me to then put what I’ve learned into practice. Thank you for the amazing grace gift I have because of your son, Jesus! Amen.
