How about no on the grounds that single payer health care is a form a socialism and all forms of socialism require the forceful redistribution of wealth. Forceful redistribution is just theft by another name. How about no on the grounds that single payer health care will cost billions, if not trillions, of dollars if California is any indication. How about no on the grounds that amount of debt a single payer health care system will add to country’s already enormous debt, will only perpetuate the enslavement of future generations. How about no on the grounds that I don’t want some bureaucratic board telling me who I can and can’t go to for treatment. How about no on the grounds that I don’t want some bureaucratic board telling me what treatments I can or can’t get based on what they approve and disapprove. How about no on the grounds that I don’t want a bureaucratic board deciding that my illness will cost too much and it’d much easier for me to die.
So, no, single payer health care isn’t just difficult or imperfect, it’s a death sentence that imprisons our health to an apathetic bureaucracy will end up like all other bureaucracies: more interested in its continuation than serving its intended purpose.
No fucking thank you.
