Geoffrey: The information I gave you in confidence is the true story of this incident. The Raleigh butts were destroyed by a particular FBI Agent who headed to operation. Evidence has been planted and tampered with, stories created to misdirect the investigation by “sleuths” who actually TRY to mislead the public to protect the real actors in this folly. Ths was an extraordinarily well planned and superbly executed plan to provide Persident Nixon with the ammunition he needed to override Congress and enact the International Air Piracy Act. I am not guessing at this conclusion, I helped implement it with the real players. Some of those involved were Northwest pilots. Others were associated with the FAA and the FBI. DB Cooper was Duane Weber. Richard Floyd McCoy, Jr. was Sgt. Richard McCoy, assigned from the Pentagon. They all worked together at the request of Nixon, the Director of the FAA, and Director J. Edgar Hoover. And THAT is the real truth. You will not hear that from the FBI.
