Bicyclist Struck By Car, Killed BROWARD COUNTY, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — A man on a bicycle was struck by a BMW X5 and killed after failing to adhere to the traffic signal. The crash happened at 9 PM on Sunday, May 28th, 2023 in central Broward County. Detectives say that a 2014 BMW X5 was heading west on West Sunrise Boulevard at the same time a bicyclist was approaching the intersection at NW 27th Ave. The man riding a Magna Exitor 21 “speed bike” was observed traveling through a red “no walk” sign at the intersection just before being slammed into by the BMW in a “T-Bone” style crash. The man was pronounced deceased by BSO Fire Rescue. BSO says that the driver of the BMW remained at the scene and has been cooperative.
