True, a shift in development practices and discipline is needed. Blockchains are persistent and irreversible, hence even worse than re-flashing EEPROM modules or fixing bugs in the punchcard era.
I agree that both tooling and adequate training needs to be provided. Great to have committed members of the community working on tooling rather than only monetizing their knowledge of smart contract programming in a more or less civil way.
