We at Boho Charms, are dying with envy at the thought of the thousands of boho babes and music lovers who will make their way deep into the California desert for two weekends.

Festival season is in the air, a staple date in many celebrity’s calendars. The annual Coachella festival draws an eclectic mix of crowd — the rich, the famous and most importantly the vagabonds of bohemia.

If you are in a different part of the map and haven’t managed the xxx mile journey, then you will most likely hear or read a lot about what’s happening across the pond. What we’re interested in the most apart from the killer music and arts is the boho fashion styles that will go viral and for the past years, Coachella boho babe queens who have reined the prestigious music festival are Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Alessandra Ambrosio, and Vanessa Hudgens.

Today we’re running down on what Coachella is and its humble beginnings.

THE BIRTH AND EMERGENCE OF COACHELLA

Once upon a time in 1993, bands took a hard beating with the cuts from Ticket Master over their service fees, which they claimed where draining fans and artists dry. Roll drums, roll the red carpet, enter Pearl Jam who decided that the system was unacceptable and as part of their feud Pearl Jam looked for alternative venues for their tours, venues that did not have underlying agreements with Ticket Master.

Pearl Jam made camp on the grounds of Empire Polo in Indio and were astonished when thousands of fans flocked the deserts for one of their one-night performances. This reaffirmed that the Polo ground was a viable venue for music events and concerts. Voila! The birth of Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

In 1999 during one fine day in October, the first major 2 day Coachella festival was held and it now has been 17 years since- bringing a wide range of eclectic art and music artists together it’s become so huge globally that the event now extends to 2 weeks, imagine from 2 days!

WONDER WHY COACHELLA IS SUCH A HUGE HIT?

Now tell us, who does not find it appealing to flock out to the middle of nowhere for some desert sun, and to be surrounded by beauties and talented people while being enveloped in a big temporary bedouin of a home nestled between cactuses full of amazing art while you get to be serenaded by the biggest names in the industry for a full 2 weeks? We are dying just thinking about it.

Save those tears, not anywhere near the US? There are equivalent festivals around the globe from the Glastonbury Festival and Reading and Leeds Festival in the UK, Splendour on the Grass and the Byron Bay Blues Fest in Australia, Lollapalooza in Asia where you can have as much fun.

DESERT NOMAD, BOHO VAGABOND FASHION — WHAT TO WEAR AT COACHELLA

If you are one of those lucky enough to be making a trek to Indo for Coachella or any arts and music festival, you need to have boho babe and chic outfits worthy of the festival.
