E-MAIL ADDRESS FOR COMPANIES
In order to improve the existing system and harmonise it with international standards in the field of Company Law, The Serbian Parliament adopted amendments to the Serbian Company Law (hereinafter: Law) on 8 June 2018, and they were published in the official journal on the same date.
Adopted Law started with application 09.06.2018. except amendments related to Law’s harmonisation with the EU legislation which Republic of Serbia will apply from 01.01.2022. All other provisions will apply from 01.10.2018.
As one among of the series of amendments to the Law, is an obligation of companies to register an e-mail address .
Until 1 October 2019, all companies will have to register their e-mail addresses with the companies register.
Article 21 of the Company Law envisages the obligation of the company to have an address for receiving e-mail.
Up to now, the companies have had the possibility of registering the above mentioned address, but after the entry into force of the Law this possibility from 01.10.2018. year is a legal obligation that companies will be obliged to register it at the Business Registers Agency without a payment.
Companies already registered in the Business Register Agency in Serbia as well as entrepreneurs, branches and representative offices of foreign companies which do not have a registered address for e-mail reception from 01.10.2018, are obliged to fulfill the legal obligation or register mentioned address within one year.
