Just Let People Be Sad

Hey Tatum, thank you for sharing some very real truths in this article. I personally agree with the point you are making and I truly do believe that being able and comfortable with honestly sharing how you feel with one another is extremely important. Especially when the feeling is sadnesss. I had a time in my life where I also felt like I had to hide my true emotions of sadness during a time in my life where I truly was sad. And at the time I didn’t feel like this was something I should not share with others, but rather keep to myself and present a “mask” of happiness to those around me. But when I finally put away the mask is when the journey of healing could take place and I could actually start to work towards a place of happiness which like you mentioned takes time!

I wrote a song during that time with a friend, but finally got a around to producing, recording and releasing the song 5 years after writing it because I wanted others to know that they are not the only ones that feel this way and to encourage them to be open and honest about their sadness. The friend that actually sang the song for me, as I am not a vocalist, is one of the people that really helped me to be honest about what I was going through.

Feel free to check out the song at this soundcloud page: Listen to Crying Out

It also available on iTunes and Spotify. I hope you enjoy it as the lyrics really resonate with this article.

Thanks again for sharing these real truths! We all need to do that more!
