Quoted from a NYT editorial summarizing British failure to recognize their own national mediocrity:
David Montgomery

You could find a similar quote in the US. I have always been amazed by immigrant success stories that are usually told by second generation Americans when speaking about their parents struggles: working three jobs while living in a cramped apartment. What happens is their children become Americanized and adopt the same sense of entitlement as everyone else. I personally think immigration is what makes this country work but I believe firmly in legal immigration not illegal as most immigrants I know do as well. I know immigrants who are staunch Trump supporters over this one issue.

Americans will work in the agricultural industry but we have to be willing to pay for the increased wages in the grocery line. To support migrant low wage often illegal workers is simply wrong.
