[RESUME] The Effect of Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) on Performance in the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) Listening Module
TOEIC or Test of English for International Communication usually used as a test for people who are applied for a job. Since this test is so important, people who are looking for a job really try to learn and practice with the similar test. Some of them learn from textbooks only and the others learn from Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL).
This research shows us that the method of the listening teaching is important.
The reasearhers divided people to two groups, one group was taught with traditional method and the other one was taught with computer assisted method. In the end of the research, they found out that the computer assisted method marks the better point compare to traditional method. The participants mostly say that CALL method is interesting and motivating. Participants who learn with CALL method can use various activities with their computer such as powerpoint, games, puzzles etc. From the opposite of CALL, participants who learn with traditional method find it not interested.
CALL is such a better way of method to teach but, of course the originality of their ability takes a role too. CALL is more effective because it gives you the chance to explore yourself with various functions, and traditional method just gives the usual and standart textbook which is some people found it boring. CALL can be both challenging and demanding for the teacher and students, however, it is very stimulating and rewarding.
