Operations Wizard? The Coffee Revolution is Looking For You.
BONAVERDE/Operations Manager (m/f)
Want to be part of a revolution? Eager to start from scratch on a great adventure?
Bonaverde is looking for a highly motivated Operations Manager to help bring their coffee revolution to the next level, starting September 2017.
Who we are:
A small, dedicated team of young, sleepless (but caffeinated!) Berliner entrepreneurs on a mission to change the way coffee is perceived, traded and prepared.
By selling green raw coffee beans directly from farmers to consumers, Bonaverde aims to revolutionize the second biggest commodity market in the world. Our connected coffee marketplace makes farmers become faces, giving them the opportunity to build their own brands.
Bonaverde developed the world‘s first roast-grind-brew coffee machine to shift the roasting process to the customer and enable everyone to roast their own coffee with a single push of a button.
Why we need you:
Bonaverde is a start-up with a big goal: establish a new way of consuming coffee. A core part of this vision is our state-of-the-art, IOT-infused roast-grind-brew coffee machine, which allows consumers to roast their raw green coffee beans according to their individual roasting preferences.
The IOT component allows for new interaction options with the consumer and allows a variety of possible databased services for private and commercial users.
The machine is already in serial production, and the first few thousand devices are on their way to consumers in North America, Europe, and across the globe. Production facilities are based in China.
This position will mainly deal with the physical component of the business model, establishing an efficient supply chain for the coffee makers and the raw green coffee they process.
We need someone that is clever and confident enough to design the whole operational process of the company, from the import of coffee makers and raw coffee beans through delivery to our final customers.
Central to this position will be the establishment of the future ERP-system for Bonaverde, thus experience with ERP systems is vital. While planning this, possible APIs with BI modules and the digital “coffee cloud” are to be considered.
You’ll also be responsible for establishing business relations coffee growers connecting to our coffee trade ecosystem. For the running pilot, which includes the setup of a packaging line, we are currently partnering with three growers from Nicaragua. More shall join the movement soon and it will be your task to assist them in the setup process for further packaging lines in countries throughout the coffee belt.
We need someone that is more than familiar with imports, logistics concerns and shipping, in order to keep our promise and deliver the freshest coffee and the machines that brew it.
We need someone analytical and detail-oriented, who will put in place sustainable processes in order to keep the whole company running together.
The person taking this position will also have the responsibility to define and control the KPIs for all logistical processes. The position will develop together with the company. If the operations manager works successfully, a future position at C-level within the company is probable.
Who you are:
- You are extremely ambitious and curious.
- You love coffee — almost as much as you love planning, coordinating and delivering high quality on a timely manner.
- You are more than confident with numbers and always take them into account when taking a decision.
- You know how to think outside of the box, multitask and get things done.
- You have the startup DNA in you and a great spirit.
- You believe in our concept and vision — and in yourself.
What you have achieved:
- You have earned a great technical degree/MBA with focus on production and/or logistics and have worked for at least a 5 years in Operations and/or in Consultancy.
- Firsthand experience in the field of consumer electronics and/or fmcg industry will help you in this position.
- You have proven track record of successful logistics projects that you have implemented in a corporation and where you have been responsible in optimizing processes.
- Technical understanding for production processes may be helpful, but is not required.
- You have worked with an ERP-system in a similarly structured company. Experience introducing said system preferred.
- You understand the stakes of imports and strategic planning.
- You know how to make difficult decisions under pressure — and keep a level head while doing it.
- You have experience in negotiating contracts with third-party entities and maintaining sustainable relationships.
- You are flexible and able to travel. Negotiating on an international level is no brainer to you.
- You can speak fluent German, but also English and ideally Spanish.
What we offer you:
- As Bonaverde’s operations manager, you will have the opportunity to think and shape the whole operational structure of the company on your own.
- You will have great responsibilities that will make direct impact on the company and its success.
- You will be able to take decisions that matter and demonstrate your entrepreneurial mindset.
- You will help build the company in synergy with great people, be part of a promising challenge and grow alongside the company.
What else?
While we are looking for experienced individuals, applicants should be at a point in their careers where they are ready to take chances and are driven rather by perspectives than by privileges. The operation manager (m/f) is a senior management position reporting directly to the CEO.
