Introducing For New York: A Zine Saluting Independent Businesses
We’re New Yorkers before anything else. And as New Yorkers, we have our spots. Our corner bodega. Our neighborhood bar. Our local bookstore. We care about these businesses sticking around and thriving. Not just as a convenience, but because they make our big city smaller and more personal. They provide us with something more than bagels or beer or books; the people we meet through our local businesses become our friends, family, and offer us a sense of community. That’s why we started Bond Street to begin with. Before any transaction, we’re New Yorkers. And we believe independent businesses play a central role in making New York one of the greatest cities in the world. Now, more than ever, it’s crucial that we support the barber shops, record stores, cafes, and other establishments that keep our city alive. We created For New York as a token of appreciation for the independent businesses that define this city. Each serves as an integral part of our individual narrative. They help form our identity as New Yorkers. They provide context, distinguishing our city as a place unlike anywhere else in the world. Here’s to them.
