Queens and Kings Among Us
They show no urgency. They are where they are meant to be, at all times. They can be quick without hurrying. Their tempo is the essence of their serenity.
Chances are they won’t be holding a lofty title or wearing a crown. This is by design. They could go there if they wanted to. But they don’t. Consequently, they are always free to choose a role that suits the situation they’re in. They can lead from any position. Can lead by following, by taking charge, or by mucking around in the middle of it all. Their adaptiveness is a significant aspect of their mastery.
You can recognize them by their vibration. They transmit at a rare frequency. It is a unique signature. You have to be channeling a broad spectrum of signals to pick it up. You must always be listening if you expect to hear anything significant.
You might not pick up their vibration because they can remain still or hidden for a ridiculously long time.
You might not pick up on it because a lot of the work they do is invisible, unaccounted for in any plan or known narrative.
Because their methods are often invisible, their vibration may be emanating from an adjacent body, not theirs. Be aware of this. A person will often have to peep deep to witness their technique.
Children light up around them. A glowing child is often an indicator that one of them is in our midst.
They respect all your gods. Your beliefs. Your faiths. They can do this because love is their religion. Love is the common ground. Acting with kindness the common practice. If you want their attention, prove your love.
They do what they want. This is a matter of being courageously and stubbornly true to themselves and their destinies, not an expression of entitlement or privilege. Still, it can be a pain in the ass to deal with them because of this aspect of their makeup.
They feed our hunger for fairness. For wisdom in the administration of justice. Their value systems are calibrated to to equity and empathy. To the belief that some people require more help than others. And thebelief that we must feel our way toward unity, it’s our thinking that usually gets us in trouble by creating separation and suffering.
They believe that stories are rooted in the land, as indigenous people have it, and not in time, as machines would have it. That a lie told in a place, or an injustice committed there, will not disappear with time, as machines would have it, but will re-visit all who come to that place, for all time. The same is true for acts of kindness. You may notice, therefore, that their stories are always told with a heart-of-care, and with respect to the land. The Mother. Keeper of all the stories.
They have alchemy skills, which means they can make material change. Can cause transformations. They can shake up a can of humdrum and turn it into party confetti. Turn a shitpile into art. Art into belief. Belief into science. And science into magic.
They have divining abilities, which means they can find what is currently hidden or unseen. They are patient, because they understand that discoveries don’t arrive on clock time, as machines would have it, but on kairotic time, as opportunities present themselves. The beat to which all of nature decides. That is their way, too. Their tempo. Nature decides. This is a source of their wholeness. De-severer of their dualities. It gives them their peace of mind. Their ease. How can one not be assured by the ability of a flower to bloom? Of a tree to mark time? Of a bird to find a direction?.
They can sit by a lake all day and never have a care, because they are where they are meant to be, and nothing else matters. This is true majesty. It is from thrones such as these that they secretly rule the world.
They share power freely because they know that empowering others is a source of their power, not a depletion of it. Their energy is totes renewable, you guys!
They have an uncanny ability to confront madness with tranquility, chaos with structure, confusion with focus, and every setback with a darkly hilarious sense of humor that’s not for everybody, but if you know what’s up you get it.
They can leap large bureaucracies in a single phone call to a fellow secret royal — most likely a woman in a pink dress with a nothing title who has all the keys on her keychain.
When they dance, people dance along. When they play, the game changes. Every time they sing a sad song, somewhere, somebody who’s nearly always an asshole cries in sorrowful recognition of what an asshole they nearly always are.
They are queens and kings living among us who secretly and lovingly rule the world. They will probably not acknowledge this about themselves due to their humility, which is off the charts. So don’t make a big deal about it or anything if your path crosses theirs. Maybe don’t even approach them. Keep a respectful distance. Give them their space. They’ve got lots of invisible work to do. But yeah. They’re out there. You can tell them by their vibration.
