“The New Testament” Analysis
The Reason Why Jesus Is the Son of Man, the Son of God and the Lamb of God
Jesus, the Son of Man, had to be truly human to suffer and sympathize. The punishment for sin requires suffering in body and soul. And only a human can do this. He did not only share in our nature but also had to identify with us in the experiences of the fall.
Jesus, the Son of God, had to be truly divine to satisfy and secure. He was able to be raised from the dead to earn for us eternal life and favor with God.
Jesus, the Lamb of God, had to be truly sacrificed to save us from sin. God made skin coats for Adam and Eve because they were ashamed of being naked. They felt shame as a result of their sin. Skin coats, a lamb, was sacrificed to cover their naked body/shame/sin.
