Have you noticed a shift in the air? People everywhere are wanting more for their lives and are choosing a mindful approach to how they are dealing with stressful situations. They are finding the weight of the world being lifted off of their shoulders through meditation. They are learning to relax with breathwork. They are connecting by going outside and seeking nature. They are learning to focus on the present moment and the things they can control.
But what about boundaries? How does that play into this mindful approach to living? No one ever really talks about the importance of mindfully setting boundaries. It is when you are in the moment, here and now and you know deep within that you are your own best advocate. When you are your own best advocate, you remember that you do not need to do anything you don’t want to do. That you do not owe anyone an explanation for the decisions, you make in your life. It’s that simple. You are mindfully setting those boundaries and choosing what is comfortable for you.
Mindful living opens up our hearts, makes us more compassionate, helps us focus on the now. It reminds us to let go of the things that we have no control over. It puts us in touch with who we are and from that embodiment stems empowerment and the protection of the sacredness that we have established in our lives. We now see our body, mind, and soul as a temple, and it is one that not everyone can worship.
As you forge into a tomorrow, open that heart of yours, be kinder, live in this delicious moment, but never forget that your comfortability, your desires are important. Standing up for yourself, speaking up for yourself are also important when living mindfully and setting those boundaries.
