Ashikaga Flower Park is located at on hour drive by train from Tokyo, in a place known as Tochigi. This park is not a botanical garden. It is not just a place to rest and recreate. Ashikaga Flower Park is a kingdom of colors, shapes, scents. If nature has ever left you breathless, be prepared to experience the real ecstasy, awakened by the fairytale scenery of flower arrangements, glorious trees, and magical pathways, covered by silky petals and leaves.

It is known as one of the most popular sightseeing throughout the whole year because it is really impossible to choose which season is the most beautiful in this stunning garden. Japan is known for its passion in flourishing, but also by harmoniously settled gardens, an ancient and almost spiritual attitude towards plants and horticulture. That’s why the park is an equally compelling experience, whether you visit it at the time of Christmas or late autumn when water lilies flow.

Christmas Fairy Tale

From December to late February in Ashikaga Flower Park you can attend an authentic performance of Christmas illumination and decoration. This more cooling season does not allow plants to flourish, but the creators of this magnificent place have made the park look majestic at low wintertime temperatures. Thousands of LED lamps, spread over the entire lawn, the sky full of Christmas sparkling lights, decorated trees’ branches and trails will make you feel like part of a winter fairy tale.

Blossomed Love & Wisteria Tunnels

Spring is the season when Ashikaga Flower Park wakes, as it was barely waiting to show all of its splendor. From March until the end of May, you can try to count all the tones of the world, but you will not succeed. From the playful tulips to the bright sky covered with pink and blue Wisteria, this Japanese gem looks like the planet of Avatars or a glittering forest from the most delicate dreams.

Wisteria is the princess of this kingdom. It is a spectacle for which most visitors are coming in May. The Ashikaga Park’s creators imagined paths through the park as tunnels made of this beautiful blooming flower, passing through which, seem to be under a spell. Wisteria or Fuji Flower, just like a mountain, is one of the greatest treasures and a symbol of Japan. Next to the flower tunnels, there is a Fuji tree, one-century old, with its umbrella-shaped crest, making this ambiently incredible and unique.
