Summer Breakfast (on the lighter side)

Kale and cabbage — garden kale —

These go in the bowl sans fail.

Mushrooms also, welcome always,

Fried in butter, in the bowl most days.

Some sort of protein (sausage or fish) —

All steamed together makes the morning dish.

Often fruit, which offers sweet aside

Balanced by bitter coffee, and tea more mild.

Such is summer breakfast, eaten al fresco

We bask in Summer’s sun’s early glow;

The birds all chatter, swoop and play —

We follow their lead, to start our day.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
