"Mediocrity has allowed me to float by without too much pressure or judgement. Being mediocre at school is great. No one bothers you! No one even looks at you."

The lines above knocked me

It's been a long since I read a Teenage Romantic Drama. Then I got this book from Simon and Schuster & for a difference, it was fun reading it.

It was a lovely fiction that took me back to the days of my teenage when you're in school & your friends are always teasing you for your crush on someone or when you're into some activities & by chance, the person you admire is into that same activity & you think that nothing can be more real than that. All sorts of things happen & every day in teenage is an excitement

This book 'A Pho Love Story' by Loan Le is one such tale where you are looking ahead to that feeling that starts between Bao and Linh.

Both of their families are running a Vietnamese Restaurant opposite each other & they don't like each other at all.

Bao & Linh goes to the same school but has never spoken to each other because of all the stories they have learned from each other's parents about how rude the other restaurant people are to their employees & have connections with the underworld & what not.

But then they both end up doing a Food Review of restaurants for their school magazine after an event of Bao with Linh outside her restaurant while she is in a panic because of a long row of customers & he stealthily helps her out. They realise for the first time in their life that they have concluded the wrong things about each other.

Things happen & emotions evolve but it isn't that easy for them. Remember, their parents are competitors.

The story was delightful & kept me eager about how they both are going to end up. Somebody who loves to read Teenage Rom-com would like this too.

The wording was simple to understand plus I got to know about Vietnamese culture & people from it. That was intriguing.

And those parts in the book where Bao & Linh are struggling with their career choices, it was so relatable.
