This is my short story of why i want to be a software engineer (career change from chemical engineering). I was exposed to programming when I was working on my research work in modeling heat transfer from source code. My faculty didn’t have money to but commercial software so I was forced to teach myself linux.

Since then I got excited about the world I have just discovered then I search for anything I could get on programming

The first thing that excites me about programming its because it is one of the few fields that doesn’t discriminate against you based on your gender, race or age, what count is person willingness to learn and how you apply yourself to the given task

The second things that excites me about programming is witnessing the market disruption caused by Uber, resulting in technological revolution that changed business models. Even businesses that will not necessary digitized their whole production line, there is an urgent need to change the way people access your product like booking flights online.

This really motivates me to learning coding and become exceptional good at it so when future market disruption happens I don’t what to be a spectator but to be involved in developing exceptional products that will change how businesses services customer

My choice to study at Holberton school incredible story of the founder of the school I find it resonate with me. Regardless of the challenges Ms Holberton experience she was eventually inducted in the Women in Technology International Hall of Fame. This just give me the philosophy the school have with regards to pushing the limits and reaching new frontiers.

This is the place I want to be associated with, where I will be challenge to be the best software engineer i could possible be. Secondly I am really fascinated by the project based learning the school has adopted, which is something I strongly believe in, where learning and application move parallel to each other.
