But There Are So Many Others In The Same Niche As Me!!

There is this disease that newbie entrepreneurs have. It’s called ‘Comparitis’. It seems to be a reasonable disease, but don’t be fooled. It is highly contagious and deadly. It can kill your entrepreneurial tendencies dead in its tracks. Stay far away from it and also from anyone else suffering from it.

What happens when we first decide on a niche that we think would be suitable to us is that we go out into the World Wide Web, and google that niche. Great idea, you might think. Let me scope out the competition, if there is any.

Yeah… Not a good idea.

You know what happens when you go on the interwebs and google your specially chosen niche. You get overwhelmed by cat videos… ummm, so many cat videos, and also, lots of other people who own a business in your exact same niche!

Damn them all to hell.

How dare they!

Don’t they realize that you chose that specific niche with such care and joy? They just had to throw cold water on your efforts.

God, I hate people. Don’t you?

Wait… Instead of hating everyone, and going on a mental killing rampage, do this instead.

Rejoice! Rejoice? Yes, rejoice.

Your niche has already been proved by others in your field. You don’t have to test it out. Those kindly folks in your niche have already tested out the field for you. Isn’t that nice of them??

Also, and this is important, so pay attention now… Ready? Your vibe will attract your own special tribe. No two people see things the same exact way. Even colours have been proven to be seen differently by different people. You and I might be looking at the exact same shade of green, but we will see two different shades of green entirely. That’s how different humans are from each other.

Thus, you might set up a business in the exact same niche as 20 others. But not only will your business look and feel different from theirs, but you will have different courses (even if they are on the same subject), and you will have a completely different following. Your following might be 50 to 60 year-old male Americans. Whilst, another person in your exact same niche might be attracting 30–40 year old mothers.

You see what I’m getting at?

I am going to repeat myself here. Even if you end up creating a course on the EXACT same subject matter as someone else, your course will look, feel, and talk differently than the other person’s course. It will focus on different things. And it will attract different people to it.

It’s just the beauty of entrepreneurship.

That is why when newbies come to me with tears in their eyes frustrated at how many people are already in their chosen niche, I give them a hanky and tell them to rejoice.

Rejoice!

Your niche is proven.

You know people are interested in what you’ve chosen to sell. Not only are people already selling that item, but they are so successful that there are more than 10 people in the same niche. Good news for you!

Don’t worry about going into the same niche as someone else.

There are hundreds of self-help authors out there. And there will be hundreds more. You could look at the hundreds of self-help books out there and say, ‘That market is done, and done! No need for more self-help authors to write their stuff.’ Or you could say, ‘That market is so freaking hot. I want me a piece of that gold.’

I don’t talk like that, but maybe you do.

Anyhoo, I hope this all makes sense to you. Are you in the process of choosing a niche right now? Do not fear, my friend. Choose your niche and go forth. The more people in that niche, the merrier the parties will be.

If you have any questions at all, or if you want to bitch at me about the afterparties in your niche, you can email me at boomshikha at themillionairehippie dot com. Or you can even just send me some cat videos.

Thanks for reading, yo!

Again, I do not talk like that.
