Why Ambition Is Such A Sexy Trait In Women

Everyone loves a strong woman. We all aspire to be like the strong women in our lives, our mothers, or sisters, or friends. We all want to be grounded and rooted like a 1000-year old oak tree. We want to be present in the moment and live for the future.

But one thing not a lot of people want to associate with a strong woman is ambition. Ambition shouldn’t be considered a dirty trait for women to aspire to. Ambition doesn’t only mean wanting lots and lots of money. It means, that we want to be really, really good at something we love.

Ambition is always considered to be a great trait for men, but I put forward the hypothesis that ambition is a sexy trait in women. I have five reasons below why.

1. If you are ambitious, it means, you can take care of yourself financially, which is always quite sexy. You don’t need to ask anyone else to pay your bills for you. You can pay every bill yourself, and you are self-sufficient. I know some men are afraid of a woman who can take care of herself. But most men I have spoken to, are impressed by such a woman. So go for it — be your own independent self.
2. If you are ambitious, you are a strong woman. It might be cause-effect thing. You are strong, so you are ambitious. Or you are ambitious, so you are strong. Either way, a strong woman is always a sexy one. Strength is something that all of us are always searching for. It isn’t something that is omnipresent. You aren’t always imbibed with strength. Some days you have it, some days you don’t. But when you do, you are a powerhouse that can’t be stopped.
3. If you are ambitious, you are confident. You know that you don’t need anyone else to survive in this world, so you go forth into the world with a backbone of steel. Nothing can deter you, nothing can stop you, and nothing can bend you. There are so many things in this world pulling you back and down, you need to step up your game. Some days, you just want to crawl into bed and have a good cry. But the point is to get up and go after you have that good cry.
4. If you are ambitious, you go for everything you want and get it. You don’t wait for the world to come to you. You go out to the world, and grab it by the horns. You grab whatever you want, without the least bit of reserve. Like, Loreal says, because you are worth it.
5. If you are ambitious, you make everyone around you better for it. When others see you living a life of purpose and meaning, they want that. When others see you living a life where you have everything, they want that. You inspire others to be more than ever before. You make them want to be better.

I hope you can see as I see that ambition is a sexy trait in women. It isn’t something to be shameful of, or something to hide. Even though jealousy might creep into your system when you see a particularly successful woman — try to cull the urge to throw mud onto her character or her life.

The main reason why women are afraid to show ambition in the public arena is ridicule and name-calling. It is quite common for a women to be called pushy, or domineering, or the b* word, if they are ambitious.

We all need to bring each other up, pushing each other up to higher ambition, rather than pulling each other down. Let’s be the kind of women who inspire each other. From our twenties onwards.
