If you look at Apple’s long game as wireless headphones, not Lightning headphones, perhaps it might seem less sinister and about lock-in. Wireless audio, like cordless phones before, will become what the customer will expect and want. Lightning seems to be a transitional way to profit and keep legacy headphones working.
