Here, have some food.
I’ve started blogs dozens of times, my first one starting the moment I realized that blogs were a thing.
“What’s a blog?”
“OH MY GOD I HAVE TO HAVE ONE.”
The thing is…everyone has a blog, and if you don’t have one now, you did. Or your sister did. Or your brother.
So, how do you hook people in?
FEED THE PEOPLE. GIVE THEM SOMETHING YUMMY.
Sorry. I got excited.
Hey! Here’s a recipe! I made it up. But don’t tell me if someone else has invented it already, okay?? I’ll be heartbroken. Honestly, I’m kind of terrified to go anywhere near Pinterest right now for that very reason.
Anyway, have some comfort food, and maybe check in sometimes to see if I wrote anything.
PLEASE LOVE ME.
(disclaimer: I am not a chef, and I’m sorry if the picture doesn’t look like it came off the food network. I AM TRYING TO GIVE YOU REALISTIC EXPECTATIONS.)
Beth’s Very Special Totally Unique Jalapeno Popper Croissants
These are great appetizers to bring to a party, or little snacks to feed your giant family who’s coming into town for the weekend, because your brothers can’t wait until we go out to dinner tonight to eat something (this is my current situation).
They’re really really easy, four ingredients. Prep time is about 10 minutes, cook time 13–17 minutes.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup regular cream cheese
1/2 cup sliced jalapeños (Fresh or jarred)
pepper jack cheese
a roll of croissant dough
Preheat oven to 375.
(un)Roll croissant dough out onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Slather cream cheese on each unrolled croissant, and top with pepper jack cheese and jalapeno slices (to taste).
Roll the croissants, making sure to space them evenly on cookie sheet, taking into account lovely pastry expansion.
Bake for 13–17 minutes, or until golden brown, gooey, and bubbly.
Serve to hungry brothers, or whoever happens to be around.
Serves 8. (Unless you’re really hungry, or on your period, or just got through a breakup. Then serves 1.)
